About the show
A 2024 BBC Young Jazz Musician finalist, 19-year-old jazz trumpeter and composer Klara Devlin is making her debut tonight at the Club with her quartet. Featuring Chris Outhwaite-piano, Tom Sheen-bass and Emmanuel Ampong-drums she will perform original compositions and arrangements inspired by bebop, blues and just a touch of free jazz. Having already appeared at numerous jazz venues and festivals this is an exciting group of seriously talented, highly regarded, young players. Well worth checking out.

A finalist in the BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2024, Klara’s material draws inspiration mainly from the Bebop and Hard Bop eras, mixed with a soupcon of Funk and improv, while her influences span Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan, Ella Fitzgerald, Herbie Hancock, Roy Hargrove, Chick Corea, and Wayne Shorter.
