Xmas Blues Extravaganza!: Todd Sharpville + Marcus Bonfanti + David McAlmont + Jon Amor + Murray Lachlan Young
The UK's most soulful blues guitar virtuoso is back at the 100 Club for an evening with his world class band, including Jeff Beck's rhythm section. Sharpville is without a doubt one of the most emotionally powerful bluesmen on the international touring circuit today.
The night will include the guttural rawness of new kid on the block Marcus Bonfanti, the dulcet falsetto tones of pop statesman David McAlmont, and the guitar wizardry of Jon Amor (whose legendary band The Hoax have recently re-formed).
The evening will commence with the hilarious brilliance of Murray Lachlan Young (the only poet in history to have been given a million pound record contract). Young is currently the resident poet on BBC6 & BBC Saturday live so please do ensure you arrive early as he cannot be missed!

His shows are famed for being highly affairs, emotionally charged and full of spirit. A regular "face" on the international touring circuit, Sharpville is in the process of taking the USA by storm, reminding blues fans around the globe of the huge contribution the UK still offers to blues culture.

The London-born Blues guitarist was born and raised in a tiny flat to an English mother and an Italian father. Despite picking up the guitar for the first time at the age of 16 and being a self-taught guitarist he has already packed in plenty having worked as a sideman for artists such as PP Arnold, Joe Lewis Walker, The Selecter, Jimmy Carl Black, Hamish Stewart, Paddy Milner, Earl Thomas, and Findlay Brown. Bonfanti is fast building a reputation as one of the most exciting acts on the UK live circuit with a fierce show either solo (his 3 piece band features Scott Wiber (Bass) and Alex Reeves (Drums)) or with band (he also plays in the highly acclaimed rock band Saint Jude).

A remarkably gifted vocalist who has worked with Bernard Butler, Courtney Pine, Craig Armstrong, David Arnold, Jools Holland and Terence Blanchard.
David McAlmont tour dates
The first poet to get a million pound record deal. A fascinating combination of performance poetry, social commentary and stand up. Imagine Oscar Wilde sharing a drink with Joe Strummer whilst in the background John Peel puts on some choice tunes.
'Never mind the Bellocs, Young has a penchant for exquisitely savage punchlines...and is treating the comedy circuit to some rather witty rhymes. He also has a great voice, Tom Baker-meets-town cryer, making the microphone redundant' (London Evening Standard).
