Formerly known as Santogold, the lovechild of submarine sonar and low frequency midnight moans, Santigold was born somewhere between Bedstuy and Bushwick, Brooklyn and was placed under the care of enigmatic singer and songwriter Santi White. Santigold drives dub and 80's pop influences from song to song. Sometimes basement rock, sometimes Bananarama-soundclash, Santigold is a vehicle for White's well drawn late night fight lines and robot-witch scat on the beat. Warbling bass, island upbeat, and deep-south snap provide foundation for White's whispering lilts and tension-ridden verses.

Devo-inpsired catchy hooks from this London 4-piece. Think an up tempo Beta Band. "Psychedelic art pop at its brilliant best" -The Guardian.
Django Django tour dates
Beach blanket lo-fi pop from Bethany Cosentino, (ex-Pocahaunted). Inspired by Bethany's longing for Los Angeles while spending her days in NY attending Eugene Lang College, Best Coast sprung forth during her first days back in California. You can expect songs about summer, the sun, the ocean and being a lazy creep, with drums, Beach Boys-style bass lines, and other amazing things added by her friend Bobb Bruno.

Recently signed to the legendary Kitsuné label are Citizens!, a quintet from London whose ambition is to ‘reclaim pop’. A back-to-the-future sound resembling an early-70s Bowie-esque vision of the 80s – what Diamond Dogs might have sounded like remixed by Martin Rushent. Citizens! say they despise retro-mania, though they’re steeped in the past, with Bowie and Steve Harley as a foundation. Their debut album has been produced by Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand.

Sensual, provocatively percussive pop comes naturally to Friends. This quintet of essential and un-missable characters, led by the captivating Samantha Urbani, are unified by their single-minded musical independence and defiant trend resistance. These Friends play in traffic at a busy intersection of leftfield but party-hardy musical styles – ESG, Tom Tom Club, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Warpaint – which they orchestrate effortlessly and winningly into a singular aesthetic.
