Brian James Is One of The Prime Architects Of English Punk Rock, a visionary who turned a whole generation on to the power and intensity of the stooges and the MC5.

The Punk Face and principle songwriter of The Damned, Brian infamously wrote the punk Classics “New Rose” and “Neat, Neat, Neat”. The Damned were the subject of the 2015 Film Don’t You Wish We Were Dead, premiered at SXSW.

“New Rose” was the first punk single and is considered to be the catalyst for the entire punk explosion of 1976. The songs from the Damned Damned Damned and Music For Pleasure albums still form the backbone of the Damned’s live performances, “New Rose” And “Neat Neat Neat” have been recorded and performed by numerous other artists including Guns And Roses, Motorhead
