Liverpool Calling: British Sea Power + Exit International + Amsterdam + The Mono LPs + Oxygen Thieves + Detuned Radio
British Sea Power are Yan, Noble Hamilton, Woody and Eamon. The band began life in Cumbria, 2001, and after a few relocations gained an enormous reputation in Brighton and then Europe, as tour supports to such greats as Interpol and The Flaming Lips. By the end of 2004, they were known worldwide, receiving acclaim as 'the best band in Britain' (Sunday Times) and attaining the Time Out award for Live Band Of The Year. It's quite remarkable that in this short time, BSP have established themselves as one of Britain's most noteworthy bands.

Amsterdam are a Merseyside six-piece pop-rock band formed by former Pele singer Ian Prowse who deliver an irresistible blend of soaring melodies and lyrics of heartache. Proud of their musical place of upbringing, the band received much attention with their 2005 single 'Does This Train Stop on Merseyside?' They were invited four times to play live on Janice Long's Radio 2 show and impressed Elvis Costello who invited them to perform with him on BBC1. Under the name Amsterdam, Prowse is still proud of his days in Pele, and in 2017 celebrates 25 years since the release of Pele's 'Fireworks' album by performing this, alongside Amsterdam's material.

The Mono LPs are a Liverpool three-piece that play indie, rock and alternative music, with a cello thrown in for good measure.
that boast an array of musical styles taken from the band's eclectic influences, which range from the intimate storyteller to the hard-edge guitar pounding rock and roll. One of the things that set this band apart from most others is the unique sound of the cello weaving its way through the electric riffs and thumping bass lines. This array of musical ideas is fused together by a solid snapping backbeat which is laced with subtle harmonies completing this exciting and original sound.
