Sheku Kanneh-Mason - cello
Needing no introduction to our audience, cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason (who memorably performed at the royal wedding of Meghan and Prince Harry) brings us Dvo?ák’s nostalgic cello concerto. Homesick in America and hearing that his wife’s sister - and also his first love - was seriously ill, Dvo?ák poured his heart and soul into a new piece for the cello. Full of personal touches and meanings he created one of the most beloved of all concertos. In contrast, to open, Carl Maria von Weber delivers a delicious classical symphonic bonbon.
