Never miss another 'The Specials' show
When The Specials reformed in 2009 for their 30th Anniversary not many would have seen the band still playing four years later having travelled all over the world and sold out hundreds of concerts. The reception to their life-affirming shows has been so incredible however and the band have enjoyed every minute of them so why stop now? Hence ten UK shows have been announced for May 2013.
The band last played in the summer at the Hyde Park (London) closing show for the Olympics alongside Blur, New Order and Bombay Bicycle Club. They will be performing a special show for 6 Music on the 12th December where they will take over the famous Maida Vale studios, but next May will be the first chance for people to come and see what is one of the most celebrated and revered bands the country has ever produced.
Coventry's The Specials are without doubt the definitive 2Tone band of their generation. In the late '70s and early '80s they pioneered the new British ska sound and racked up seven Top 10 hits whilst exerting an influence on the fledgling genre that is beyond measure.
The band reformed to celebrate their 30th anniversary in 2009 and have since travelled all over the world and sold out hundreds of concerts.
