Rekesh Chauhan is a versatile multi-instrumentalist with both Indian and Western classical training. As a solo pianist, Rekesh has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, and has shared the stage with many leading artistes including Ravindra Jain, Pt. Birju Maharaj, and Mercury Prize award winner Talvin Singh. In this concert we celebrate the launch of his new solo piano album. Recorded by Milapfest in 2014, and accompanied by tabla maestro Kousic Sen, Beyond Roots continues to push barriers in contemporary world and Indian classical music.
