Andy Frizell and the Theatre Orchestra

Andy Frizell came to prominence in the 90s with a filmic approach to theatre composition, particularly his groundbreaking work with Kaboodle Productions, developing a dynamic style of story-telling combining music and visual image often applied to classics such as View From A Bridge and King Lear (a show that prompted Vivian Stanshall to bellow ‘...best bloody version of King Lear I’ve seen in years!’ across the stage of the Bloomsbury Theatre in London.)

Andy has gone on to work locally and internationally, composing for theatre, film, large scale spectacle, and radio drama, with companies such as Walk the Plank, Liverpool Lantern company, Mischief La Bas, John Fox, Jungend Theatre Dortmund, Staattheatre Kassel, Cocoloco, BBC Radio 4 and most recently The Bremen Shakespeare Company, who’s As You Like It opened this year, and The Maurie for Subterranean Theatre, a site specific piece in the basement of Liverpool’s Cunard Building.

He is also active as a performing musician having played with Viv Stanshall, Kevin Ayers, The Coral, Shack, Super Furry Animals, Emily and the Faves and the Muffin Men among others, and is a lifelong member of the legendary Wizards of Twiddly.

Following the success of his Unity Theatre show last year, Andy brings a concert including music from a career spanning 30 years and is once again in the company of the illustrious Theatre Orchestra, a small ensemble comprising of some of the regions' finest musicians, and some special guests.
