The Sound Of His Music - A Celebration Of Richard Rodgers
Astrologer and television favourite Russell Grant hosts an evening of classic musical theatre featuring the work of one of the greatests composers of the genre.
From Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin' to Blue Moon, join us for a journey into the world of Broadway legend Richard Rodgers and his internationally-renowned collaborations with Lorenz Hart and Oscar Hammerstein II.
Leading West End performers and singers from the world's great opera houses will breathe life into his saints and sinners, his young lovers and femmes fatales in classic numbers (The Lady is a Tramp, My Funny Valentine) and highlights from stellar shows (South Pacific, The King and I, Oklahoma!), all accompanied by the finest young orchestral talent the UK has to offer (Chetham's School of Music Orchestra).
This concert has been especially produced for the Lichfield Festival by the team who brought you The Magic Flute and Cosi Fan Tutte in 2015 and 2016. This concert is presented in partnership with Chethams School of Music and Cheltenham Festival.
