New Sussex Opera Chorus presents Purcell's "The Indian Queen". Live opera, in costume! A story of love, loyalty and longing, plus appearances by Cupid, Fame, Envy and low comics... Two lovers are divided by war. Acacis is missing and Quivera, waiting for him, fends off another suitor, but for how long? Will Acasis ever return? How long should she wait?

Purcell's last opera contains much of his most glorious music but has been neglected, probably because it was left unfinished and was completed by his brother Daniel.
