Postcards & Pocketbooks
It's a delight to welcome Bella Hardy, the 2014 BBC Folk Awards Folk Singer of the Year, back to the Guildhall.
This is her 'Postcards & Pocketbooks: The Best Of Bella Hardy' tour, and her new album, a "Best of" plus two excellent new songs is also now available.
Described as Brit folk's finest by Mojo and acclaimed as "a shining star in the folk scene's firmament and "utterly wonderful" by fRoots, Bella has released nine solo albums, undertaken a seven-week musical residency in the Chinese city of Kunming, resulting in the album Eternal Spring, explored Derbyshire ballads in The Dark Peak And The White and beguiled lovers of traditional folk since her debut album Night Visiting in 2007.
Joining her will be master guitarist Sam Carter, known of course for his string of excellent solo albums and his work with Jim Moray in False Lights, and Tom Gibbs, an outstanding pianist who has also released two highly acclaimed solo albums.
