National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO)

The world famous National Youth Jazz Orchestra is celebrating 50 years of showcasing the country's most talented young jazz musicians. From a swinging rhythm section to a raft of hugely talented soloists, this is a big band in fine form. Many of the UK's most prolific jazz musicians have performed with NYJO, often becoming established stars whilst still playing with the band. Alumni include Guy Barker, Dennis Rollins, Amy Winehouse and Chris Dagley. The band tours some of the foremost venues in the UK, as well as Europe, the US, Australia and New Zealand, and appears regularly on television, including the BBC Proms.
