All Anthony John Clarke ever wanted to be was a writer of songs. From the minute he heard Barry Maguire singing the song Eve of Destruction and held the single Like A Rolling Stone by Dylan in his hand.

From that point, he says, he was doomed to that life that could so easily end in failure. Irish-born and educated, he became a teacher but song writing remained his raison detre.

It was perhaps inevitable that by his mid-thirties he found his way into the music profession and was discovered in turn by audiences all over the world. Twenty-five years on he has a string of self-penned albums to his credit, a legion of fans and a date sheet that stretches two years into the future.

Playing solo, duo or with a band, Clarke has played at folk clubs and festivals all over the UK and beyond, and he has a number of albums to his name including An Acquaintance Of Mine, Man With A Red Guitar and Sing A Chorus With Me (best of compilation album).

Amongst his best known songs are 'The Broken Years' (about The Troubles), 'The Only Life Gloria Knows' (about homelessness), and 'Tuesday Night Is Always Karaoke' Many of his songs can be found in the book 'The Songs of Anthony John Clarke'.

Dave Pegg is an English multi-instrumentalist and record producer, primarily a bass guitarist. He is the longest-serving member of the British folk rock band Fairport Convention Having joined in 1969 and has been bassist with a number of folk and rock groups including the Ian Campbell Folk Group and Jethro Tull.

Anthony John and Dave have worked together now for a number of years and one thing is guaranteed at their gigs... total enjoyment from their masterful playing, wonderful stories and hilarity from the banter between these two legends.
