When bereavement compels Mrs Dashwood to move out of the family home, her eldest daughters, sensible, restrained Elinor and fiery, passionate Marianne, have to marry well to survive. But their ideal is to find true love. Who will win their affections - shy Edward Ferrars, steadfast Colonel Brandon or the dashing Mr Willoughby?
