Never miss another 'Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers' show
Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers, Hiroshi Motofuji
Experience the power of thundering rhythms on huge taiko drums, mysterious masked choreography, synchronisation timed to perfection, post-apocalyptic martial imagery & infectious humour - all in a spellbinding display of sheer energy.
As the most successful touring taiko drum group on this continent, Mugenkyo create a contemporary look & sound, fusing the traditional spirit of taiko with a modern stage performance that has captivated audiences everywhere…?
Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers are the UK's first and only professional touring taiko group and Europe's most established performing company in this fast expanding field.
Mugenkyo present taiko in a modern and theatrical style with precise choreography, dramatic lighting and a variety of costumes ranging from the post-apocalyptic industrial to gorgeous earthy silks.
The concert is extremely musically varied; powerful rhythms, huge taiko drums, delicate shinobue bamboo flute, expressive percussion and dance.
'Just when you think it could not get any more powerful, it doubles in intensity. This show is not one to be missed' (Edinburgh Evening News).

Hiroshi Motofuji is widely regarded as one of the top solo taiko artists in Japan. He honed a high level of technique as a lead player and instructor with Japan’s first professional taiko group: Oedo Sukeroku, attaining the status of “master” at the age of 27. Since leaving Oedo Sukeroku, he has founded several taiko units, including “DaKT”, specialising in high-speed multi-layered rhythms. He has also been developing his unique rock-taiko fusion style, first with “634 Musashi” and now with bands “Hot Rod Kixxs” and “Yaiba”, performing with rock bands Kiss and Mr. Big. He has also been highly active with recording projects for tv, games, anime and film, including “Mononoke” and the hugely popular “Naruto” films.
