The Iraqi Supergun And Dr Bull
In 1990 British Customs officers swooped to seize eight sections of Saddam Hussein’s new ‘Supergun’ and ‘Arms for Iraq’ became a worldwide news story. The gun’s inventor, Gerald Bull, was found mysteriously murdered soon after. If fully assembled, the gun would have been over 150 metres long and capable of sending a projectile into a low orbit. Join Mark Murray-Flutter, Senior Curator of Firearms, to discover more about the ‘Supergun’ and its capabilities.
