Enchanting children of all ages since 1982 and a perennial favourite of Opera North, Howard Blake’s score to Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman is brought magically to life alongside a screening of the film that no Christmas should be without.
Before that, John Savournin, a stalwart of Opera North productions (Kiss me Kate, La Bohème, A Midsummer Night’s Dream) delivers a captivating retelling of Paul Patterson’s settings of two classic nursery rhymes; Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs.
Based on the Roald Dahl versions and complete with a big screen picture book to tell the stories, this concert is sure to enthral the whole family.
