Handel's Messiah
Like brass bands? Like the Messiah? Then you are in for a treat as the Leeds Philharmonic Chorus performs Handel’s Messiah accompanied by the multi-award-winning Black Dyke Band, one of the oldest and best-known brass bands in the world.
The performance of Messiah in the brass band format is very different and well worth coming along to see. The performance reprises the Phil’s previous successful collaboration with Black Dyke in 2012. The Phil has led the way in performing different versions of Messiah in the last few years; singing alongside Florilegium in the baroque version to critical acclaim in 2014.
Leeds Philharmonic Chorus will be joined by singers from Halifax Choral Society and also members of Dortmund Choirs. Dortmund is one of Leeds’ twin cities, and the Phil is delighted to host singers it last worked with in 2009 when it toured there.
