Never miss another 'Palma Violets' show
Palma Violets + Baby Strange
Palma Violets complete their amazing year with a massive headline UK tour.
Since the release their debut album 180’ back in February, the London four-piece have toured America, supported the likes of Alabama Shakes, Django Django and Savages, and appeared on Jools Holland and Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel. Plus they received accolades from being nominated for the BBC Sound of 2013 Poll to having lead single ‘Best Of Friends’ named NME’s Track Of The Year in 2012.
Their critically acclaimed debut ‘180’, released on Rough Trade earlier this year, was named after the studio where the band's story began. Back in 2011 with minimum online presence and no songs recorded, Palma Violets wanted people to come and experience their shows at their Lambeth studio 180. The album captures the live energy of these formative shows. NME declared it to be "the new soundtrack to your life", Q "one of the best debut albums of the decade" and The Quietus simply "f**king brrrrilliant".
The Guardian said Palma Violets "were born to be rock stars" and this new tour will give people who haven't been lucky enough to see them before experience their raucous live show.
For a long time if you wanted to hear the most exciting new band in Britain, you knocked on a tall black door off the Lambeth Road. An aging British Rail building - part art studio happening, part squat – Studio 180 was where south London's Palma Violets were gestating, away from sunlight and the world at large. A thrilling rock'n'roll four piece, from September 2011 they were holed-up here writing songs "their friends could dance to" and occasionally putting on celebratory, ecstatic parties about which word quickly spread. Palma Violets are Sam Fryer (vocals/guitar), Chilli Jesson (vocals/bass), Pete Mayhew (keyboard) and Will Doyle (drums), playing energetic, crooning garage rock with a dreamy, psychedelic edge.

Glasgow three-piece Baby Strange are Johnny Madden, Connaire McCann and Aidan McCann, the newest evolution of punk rock’n’roll. They have toured tirelessly in recent years, building an enthusiastically rampant live audience and fully maintaining their DIY ethos by creating their own artwork and videos.
'The Glasgow three piece are all leather jackets, spit and snarl. Rama lama guitar thrills set to fire up a new generation, this is snotty disobedience, outright deviance set to guitar, bass and drums' - Clash.
