Lynched

Irish four-piece Lynched (named after the founder-members, brothers Ian and Daragh Lynch), is a punk-folk group from Dublin.

The group mix street-songs and classic ballads in the traveller tradition with wild dance music and nods to psychedelia and rock ’n’ roll.

With an instrumental line-up featuring uilleann pipes, fiddle and bayan (a Russian accordion), the group are famed for their four-part harmony vocals. Their debut album, Cold Old Fire, drew comparisons to Planxty and the Dubliners while Mark Radcliffe says that ‘They do mark a turning point in folk… that authentic voice of the streets is back in a big way.’
