The Dark Earth And The Light Sky

Edward Thomas was killed in France at the Battle of Arras on April 9th 1917, so 2017 will be the centenary of his death.

Nick Dear’s play The Dark Earth and the Light Sky is a moving evocation of the years leading up to Thomas’s death, his friendship with Robert Frost, his marriage to Helen and the mutual affection of Edward Thomas and Eleanor Farjeon.

The close association of the Dymock Poets makes it particularly appropriate for the Market Theatre to mark this anniversary.
