My Life, My Story

In April 1982 Argentina invaded the Falklands Islands, which had been controlled by Great Britain for nearly 150 years, and resulted in the deaths of 655 Argentine Soldiers and 255 British Serviceman. In one of the most horrific moments of the conflict, the RFA Sir Galahad was bombed by two Argentine planes, with Simon Weston OBE on board.

This was an event which would change his life forever as Simon suffered 46% burns to his body. Today he has become one of the most recognised faces of the conflict and for the first time, Simon is taking to the stage to tell his story.

Guiding him from that fateful day to current times is David Fitzgerald, former Sky news anchor and close friend. There will be questions that only a close friend could ask, with answers only Simon could give. He will share shocking truths about the conflict and the impact its consequences have had since.

This is a truly inspirational show about one man’s journey from the front line of war on the edge of death to being a happy and contented Father, Grandfather and national treasure.
