German Skerries
It’s 1977. Overlooking the mouth of the river Tees, Martin Jones and Jack Williams watch the ducking and diving of sea birds, and observe the boats and activity from the new Redcar Steel Plant.
While work continues throughout the night to get the plant up and running, Jack woos his young wife among the cobwebs at the birdwatchers’ hut. But when an underwater pipe running from the Steelworks explodes, tragedy strikes and the serenity of their landscape is irrevocably changed.
Audiences get the chance to be the first to see this production – the first major revival of this award winning drama by Robert Holman.
