The City Singers Concert

Welcome to the City Singers!

They are a friendly, non-auditioned, new choir formed in 2010. They came together because they love singing but they couldn’t find a choir locally that sang the kind of music they wanted to sing.

They sing non-religious, non-traditional, music from the 20th Century onwards, including current chart music. Basically they sing songs that most people have heard of and love to sing, but arranged in a new fresh way for up to 4 part harmony by Musical Director Amanda Elsworth-Ross.

They've had a fantastic year, making the top 100 choirs of the year and just missing out on a final place in the BBC’s The Naked Choir with Gareth Malone. Join they to celebrate as they showcase their favourite songs.

Now they have established themselves as a choir, they are looking to find some new members.

Even if you’ve only ever sung in the shower before and do not read music, why not join them? You don't need to be able to read music, they sing from lyric sheets, and all abilities are welcome. They meet for practices on Tuesdays at the Ashton Hall at 5:30pm to 7:00pm.

For more information talk to Amanda, see their website www.citysingers.co.uk or join them on Facebook.
