The Frazer Theatre Comedy Club continues our year-long “Five Years of Funny” event with an evening of top-level comedy. Four more acts at the top of their game join us for the best night out in town.
As always tickets are £10 in advance from the Old Chemist Shop, by calling 07835 927965 or from our online by box office at www.frazertheatre.co.uk. Any remaining tickets will be available on the door for £12.
Doors open at 7:30pm and the show starts at 8pm.
The full line-up includes*:
George Egg
George Egg has been a professional stand-up comedian for the last two decades. He has an extremely successful solo show with which he has toured in Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Austria, France, Hong Kong, New Zealand and even India as well as extensively in the United Kingdom both on the stage and on the television. More recently has been the support act for Lee Mack, Micky Flanagan and Jack Dee.
George has created a hugely successful niche for himself as the world’s only cooking based comedian, as he uses frequently ridiculous household items to create innovative and genuinely edible meals in front of amazed audiences. Endlessly inventive, George is a name we’ve been waiting for many years to bring to the Frazer and are delighted he’s finally here.
Giants
Giants are a sketch comedy double act, made up of Barney Fishwick and Will Hislop. Listed by The Metro as one of their ‘Top Three Sketch Shows’ of the Fringe and picked by The Guardian as one of their ‘Shows We Recommend’, Giants are funny, inventive, sometimes dark, and always stupid. After a sell-out debut Edinburgh Fringe show this year, Giants are truly ones to watch!
*Giants replace the previously advertised Maisie Adam, who has sadly had to pull out of her planned appearance due to filming commitments. We hope to arrange a return visit for Maisie later this year.
Rob Thomas
Rob Thomas is a storytelling comedian with a razor-sharp wit and quirky physicality. The Guardian’s Bruce Dessau called him “strongest performer of the night” with a “superior physical presence” and The Yorkshire Times deemed him “a triumph!” with “tremendous physicality”. Rob has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and is as comfortable in a packed theatre as he is in a local pub. He won the UK Pun Championship in front of 1200 people in 2018 and was the London Evening Standard’s Critic’s Choice for his 2017 solo show. In short, he’s funny.
Masud Milas
A pirate… no really, an actual pirate in the 2015 remake of ‘Pan’ and looking as fly as a Blaxploitation cop, we don’t think Time Out will regret their decision to hand-pick Masud Milas as ‘One to watch’.
One of the most exciting acts to emerge on the UK comedy circuit. With his 70’s flair and kick ass jacket, Masud’s intelligent addictive humour has earned him a rapidly growing fan base. He’s supported Stephen K Amos on tour, hosted his own show on Soho Radio, performed at Latitude & Reading Festivals and stormed the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe festival with his debut solo show ‘Routes’.
