Milapfest presents a soulful exploration of Indian Classical music by virtuoso sitarist Jonathan Mayer and world-renowned tabla maestro, Kousic Sen.

A favourite of the long-running Music for the Mind and Soul concert series, Jonathan Mayer’s versatility and distinctive approach are tribute to his education in both Indian and Western classical music, and his studies in composition with his father, the late Indo-Jazz artist John Mayer. Jonathan is a composer and performer who has appeared in concerts all over the world, and in this concert, showcases his improvisations and compositions on the sitar.

Jonathan is joined by one of the all-time greats on the tabla, Kousic Sen. The master-drummer from Kolkata, Kousic is an expert in accompaniment and his rhythmic mastery has become known around the globe through his performances with leading musicians in many of the world’s most famous venues.
