Mull Historical Society - From Stage To Page

Colin MacIntyre is bringing Mull Historical Society to Islay! Join him for an evening of music and words, and listen to him discuss the musical inspiration behind his award-winning debut novel, The Letters of Ivor Punch.

Expect a stimulating evening and a wee complimentary dram to kick off Islay Book Festival!

A native of Mull and from a family of storytellers, Colin MacIntyre is an award-winning musician who has made two Top 20 albums, and four Top 40 albums, and records most notably under the name of Mull Historical Society.

He has been voted Scotland’s Top Creative Talent and has toured with The Strokes, Elbow and REM. He is the co-author of a Radio 4 Afternoon Play, 'Zero Degrees of Separation', and has collaborated with Tony Benn and Irvine Welsh, among others. The Letters of Ivor Punch is his debut novel.

This is Colin's first visit to Islay and it's a rare chance to hear him play. Colin has also promised to read his grandfather Angus MacIntyre's famous poem 'Islay Cheese' here on Islay!
