Friends 35th Anniversary Tour: Shalamar

"Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the multi-million selling "Friends" album,USA Soul legends Shalamar are coming back to the UK and are coming to Huddersfield for the 1st time ever!

‘’We’ve had some great shows in Yorkshire over the years’ said the bands Jeffrey Daniel ‘But for some reason we’ve never visited Huddersfield before! We’ve seen pictures of the interior at the Town Hall and it looks a great building for a concert!. We know in the 80’s Shalamar ruled supreme on the dance floors of clubs such as Johnnys Nightclub in Huddersfield, The Coliseum in Halifax, Roof Top Gardens in Wakefield.

We’re coming to reunite all those people who have great memories of that era as we bring the Friends 35th Anniversary tour to Huddersfield on Friday 11th May!

Shalamar are regarded as one of the most influential soul bands of their time, injecting their unique style, energy and passion into sounds that have commanded dance floors the world over.

“Friends” is the million copy album that helped to cement their place in musical history. The album, released in 1982 featured four top twenty hit singles - “Friends”, “There It Is”“I Can Make You Feel Good” and the iconic ‘“A Night To Remember”

Plus, expect to be dancing all night long to hits such ‘The Second Time Around’ ‘I owe you one’ ‘Take That to The Bank’ Make That Move & more!.

The album gained impetus from the legendary Top of the Pops performances by Jeffrey Daniel who demonstrated the first moonwalk on European TV screens. Daniel being the man who taught Michael Jackson the ‘Moonwalk’!"
