The Galleons, Lucas and King, George Husband

The Galleons return to the Brunswick for the 7th installment of their Lonely Disco night. The idea is they put on a gig with the best bands they have come across on the road, bringing together a selection of brilliant and diverse acts from across the country. To kick off 2017 we have.

Lucas and King whose 'gentle blend of rootsy Americana and minimalist folk combine velvet-smooth vocals with a charismatic fragility - to spine-tingling effect' (Brighton and Hove Argus).

This fantastic duo have had an exciting couple of years from supporting Ray Davies at London's Festival Hall to an excellent slot at Glastonbury Festival. These former Brighton residents are making their first trip back to the city for a while so make sure you catch them on this rare return.

Your hosts The Galleons are preparing to record a new EP so expect a few new tracks alongside some old favourites. They have some collaborations and projects in the pipeline so are hoping to use the gig to explore some new ideas. This will be the last time they'll be playing with violinist Alice Speirs for a while as she goes off travelling so hope you can make it down to wave her off.

Opening the night will be George Husband. George spent most of his teenage years playing in bands, in pubs at festivals and wherever else he could. Now studying music in London he has begun to hone his material down to a set of well crafted and beautifully performed songs that soon engage the listener with their understated charm.
