Never Mind The Cossacks
Des Kapital is back in Brighton for two nights, following sell out shows at the Brighton and Edinburgh Fringes in 2017.
When Des, the winner of ‘Gulag’s Got talent’ and ‘The ex-Soviet Republic Factor’ suffers a mid-life crisis, his family stage an ‘intervention’. Falling ticket sales, a failing marriage and not helping his daughter with her History homework all combine into forcing Des to make a career change. With one hour to win back his family and agent, he tells the entire History of the Soviet Union from 1917-1991, parodying some well-loved pop songs. For example, ‘Angels’ becomes ‘Engels’, ‘Like a Virgin’ becomes ‘Lands were Virgin and ‘Thinking out loud’ becomes ‘Sinking out loud’, a comment on Brezhnev economics.
