The appearance of Altan at St. Alban's Church will be the realisation of a dream for me, personally.
Formed in Donegal some 35 years ago, they have been in constant demand all over Europe, North America and Australasia ever since.
Their fresh, uplifting interpretations of Traditional songs and tunes brings a timeless quality to their music and each live performance is a unique and breath-taking experience. They are arguably the best Traditional Irish Folk band currently playing anywhere in the World.

Taking their lead from revivalist bands such as Planxty, De Dannan and The Bothy Band, Altan picked up the baton and took their rootsy Folk from the hotbed of Traditional Irish music in Donegal to the outside world. The outside world enthusiastically embraced their music and Altan have never looked back.
