A Boy Growing Up - An Entertainment From The Stories Of Dylan Thomas

It was a Sunday in February 1954 when Rodney Bewes, only 14 years old, attended the Memorial Recital for Dylan Thomas at the Royal Festival Hall. So impressed was he by Michael Hordern's recital of 'Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night' that he waited at the stage door for his autograph.

A few years later the famous Welsh playwright and actor Emlyn Williams put together a show from the short stories of Dylan Thomas and called it 'A Boy Growing Up'. The show was performed at the Globe Theatre in London before it transferred to New York, where it was hailed as a 'triumph' and then to San Francisco, where it was a 'smash'.

Rodney Bewes (star of The Likely Lads) plays Dylan Thomas in this beautiful one-man show based on a collection of the author's celebrated short stories.

Suitable for ages 12+ years.
