The Tricity Vogue All Girl Swing Band, Josephine Shaker

Tricity Vogue formed her All Girl Swing Band in 2011 inspired by bandleader Ivy Benson, whose All Girl Swing Band became the BBC Resident Dance Band in 1943 and was the first band to play in liberated Berlin after World War Two.

Ivy Benson, like Tricity herself, came from Leeds, and it was at the unveiling of a blue plaque at Ivy Benson's birthplace that Tricity met members of the original band and was inspired to start her own all female jazz ensemble.

In August 2014, the Tricity Vogue All Girl Swing Band played the Colonial Club cabaret tent at Twinwood vintage music and dance festival.

As a special treat for Hebden Bridge Burlesque Festival, Tricity and the girls will be joined by tap-dancing, hip-swinging, charlestoning vaudevillian vixen, Josephine Shaker.

Expect musical virtuosity, giggles galore and lots of opportunities for dancing in the aisles in this family-friendly event.
