Live music and cinematic landscapes come together when The Dodge Brothers – Mike Hammond, Mark Kermode, Aly Hirji and Alex Hammond join forces with premiere silent film pianist Neil Brand to perform their rousing score for William’s Wellman’s rail-riding rollercoaster Beggars of Life.
Renowned film critic Kermode – who plays bass and harmonica – will be joining his bandmates and acclaimed composer Brand for a musical accompaniment to Beggars of Life: the seminal 1928 American movie featuring Wallace Beery as a rail-riding hobo and Louise Brooks as a girl on the run.
The Dodge Brothers

These guys are renowned for playing the hell out of classic Americana. With TV and radio presenter Mark Kermode thumping out the rhythm, and the melody and mystery from Mike Hammond and Aly Hirji, this roughneck trio have got feet stomping and hands clapping from California through the Natchez Trace to the South coast of the UK.
