This true story is a modern drama about Ruth Ellis, the last woman in England to be sent to the gallows (in 1955) at the age of twenty eight.

Ruth was a divorcee with a young child to care for. Through necessity she worked the kind of nightclubs where more than a drink was on offer. All the hostesses worked and played hard. Ruth meets and soon becomes totally besotted, bordering obsessed with Racing Car driver David.

Fame certainly arrives alright, but not in any form Ruth has imagined.
