The Gavin Bryars Ensemble

Gavin Bryars is one of the world's leading contemporary composers. Born and raised in Goole, this is the first time that he has ever performed here!

Adored by musical legends including Brian Eno, Tom Waits and Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood, he will appear with the chamber version of his ensemble - two singers and four instrumentalists - which he has run for over 30 years and which performs widely throughout the world but rarely in the UK.

The impetus for the Goole performance came from his recent project with poet Blake Morrison to create a sound installation on the Goole to Hull stopping train.

The programme will feature recent works as well as a version of his cult classic Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me Yet.
