Polkaworks

Rollicking English dance music played with zest on melodeons, fiddles, hammered dulcimer, mouthorgan and piano. Described by John Tams as "Glorious" and by Alistair Anderson as a "Great band with loads of wonderful tunes", PolkaWorks is an English traditional dance band that has festival audiences leaping about the dance floor at every ceilidh.

Between them they have played in many of the most significant English ceilidh bands over the last forty years, influencing the shape and sound of traditional English dance music in the twenty first century. These bands include: The Albion Band, The Bismarcks, The Old Swan Band, Magic Lantern, Umps and Dumps and The Old Hat Dance Band.

As this will the final dance under the current management, after 40 years at the helm, we have booked probably the most popular dance caller at Godalming over that time, Nick Walden. The band is guaranteed to have you tapping your toes or, better still, will have you up and dancing your socks off and Nick will ensure everybody has a fabulous evening!
