Glynde Place Concert Series

In 2014 the Glynde Place Concert Series was started to showcase the rising talent of musicians from the BBC New Generation Artists scheme. We were very privileged to have Sean Shibe and Kitty Whately playing in the Long Hall to a rapt audience over two evenings. Following the success of these concerts we are extending the series to three evenings; 23 May, 20 June and 18 July. In addition we are also opening the gates earlier, so those who would like to arrive before the doors open, and enjoy a picinic, are more than welcome. Please come, and enjoy an evening of wonderful music here at Glynde Place.

The third and final concert evening will be a violin recital by Esther Yoo, accompanied by pianist Robert Koenig.

Esther began playing the violin at aged 4, and made her concerto debut aged 8. Recently named a BBC New Generation Artist, Esther first came to international attention in 2010 when, aged 16, she became the youngest prize winner of the 10th International Sibelius Violin Competition. In 2012, the American-Korean violinist was also one of the youngest ever prize winners of the Queen Elisabeth Competition.

During the 2014/15 season Esther is touring with Validimir Ashkenazy. She has made fesitval apperances internationally during which she has played the Bach Double Concerto with Maxim Vengerov.

Esther plays the 1704 "Prince Obolensky" Stradivarius, generously lent to her by a private collector.
