The Fake News Tour 2019

Please note: Info provided by the Event Organiser

If no news is good news then good news is fake news. Jonathan Pie returns to the road once more to berate the people in power – and the journalists apparently holding them to account.

Jonathan Pie is the exasperated News Reporter whose videos have been seen across the world. His previous two tours have taken in venues such as the Hammersmith Apollo and the London Palladium and performances across the US and Australia.

Jonathan Pie has been described as ‘brilliant, brave, raw and analytical without forgetting to be funny’ by Ricky Gervais. With over 1.2 Million Facebook followers, his videos regularly achieve millions of views going viral internationally. His response to the election of Donald Trump was viewed more than 150 million times world wide.

“a staggering tour-de-force of righteous visceral rage” (Chortle)

“a true tour de force” (Evening Standard)

“as exquisitely performed as it is well written, damningly scathing of current political discourse and engagement” (The Scotsman)

Jonathan Pie appearing at this event

Furious spoof UK News reporter Jonathan Pie has brutally honest views on the world of politics and entertainment. Known for venting his spleen in unguarded “off-camera” rants, Pie’s online videos have been viewed by millions worldwide. Pie is the brainchild of actor Tom Walker, who first brought the character to life in September 2015. He became a viral hit when he famously ‘lost it’ outside the Houses of Parliament, and his fan base has continued to gain momentum ever since. Tom’s co-writer is comedian Andrew Doyle, who started writing for Pie in December 2015. Since then they have collaborated on the live show, various pieces for television and radio, and weekly online videos including a response to the US election result which has had in excess of 130 million views.
