Nigeria-born and Chicago-raised rapper / producer Tobi Lou found refuge in his first love, music, after suffering an injury which derailed him from a sporting career. Growing up in the Windy City, Lou was a disciple of homegrown hip-hop acts such as Common and Twista, but it was Kanye West, who not only inspired Lou musically, but also showed him the benefits of realising your individuality as an artist. That influence took Lou to Los Angeles, where he would write and produce songs for other artists, while moonlighting as an Uber driver. Eventually, Lou stepped out in the forefront as an artist and his first offering was a song called Game Ova. The video was directed by music visionary Joshua 'Glassface' Goldenberg and was shot in the same Los Angeles arcade as Kid Cudi’s Day ‘N’ Night video. After 2018, Lou released three critically acclaimed EPs and began working on his debut album with Grammy nominated producer No I.D.
