Unoma Okudo announces her first headline show at Stereo Café, Glasgow.

To celebrate the release of her 6-track EP, ‘Odyssey’, Glasgow-based singer-songwriter announces her first headline show at Stereo Café on 19th May.

Unoma has enjoyed a great start to the year. Since the release of her first single ‘Satisfied’ in January, she has picked up support from both fans and tastemakers alike. The song was named ‘Single of the Week’ by BBC Radio Scotland’s Janice Forsyth, who also described her as “a singer with a sensational voice”.

The EP itself showcases the Nigerian-born singer-songwriter’s music which incorporates elements of soul, gospel and jazz. Her gospel influences also shine through in her main vocals and enchanting harmonies.

Unoma began writing songs while studying to become a medical doctor at the University of Glasgow. She has since supported musical legends including Macy Gray, triple Grammy Award winner Lalah Hathaway; and as backing vocalist for Dougie MacLean at the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony in 2014.

Now with this EP release, it looks like 2016 is set be a really big year for Unoma Okudo.
