The RCS Symphony Orchestra performs Rachmaninov’s romantic Second Symphony conducted by Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Ben Gernon. Ben is one of the youngest conductors to have held a titled position with a BBC orchestra, and is repeatedly praised for his effortless authority on the podium, his drive and command of the orchestra and his incisive, heartfelt and evocative interpretations.
Our concert opens with the Overture from Così fan tutte followed by 'La Mia Dorabella', 'Fuor la Spada', 'E la fede delle femminine' & 'Come Scoglio' performed by our Vocal Studies and Opera students. In addition, our Leverhulme Conducting Fellow will take to the podium with Thea Musgrave’s Rainbow.
