Syd Barrett – Dream and Reality: A 70th birthday tribute, with Alan Bissett, Ian Barrett, John Cavanagh and Nicola Meighan

Syd Barrett, the original frontman of Pink Floyd, would have been 70 this year. To mark the occasion the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival (SMHAFF) has commissioned Alan Bissett to write a brand new play about Barrett, which premieres at Oran Mor before touring to the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh and the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen.

On Thursday 20th October SMHAFF presents a special evening event in Oran Mor’s beautiful upstairs auditorium, to celebrate Barrett’s life and dispel some of the myths about him – with the help of special guests, archive footage, and rarely seen artwork.
