Diät
Ozzie transplants in an increasingly homogonized Berlin, DIÄT are a young drain which collects post-punk frustration, wreckless abandon and a sense of alienation in their adopted home. Like countrymen and label-mates Total Control, the quartet sharpen a monochromatic misery to a fine point; incisive, witty and vital. Following punked up 7" singles, the group's debut album on Iron Lung / Adagio 830, Positive Energy topped many end-of-year lists.

Their live show, like the record, marries a Crisis-style mid-tempo disaffection, deep, monotone vocals, angered side-swipes at modern cultural breakdown and the unabashed deployment of early 80s Oz/Nz melody. It's a propulsive mix not afraid of either misanthropy or genuine pop moments. "Write A Manifesto, Write A Shopping List."

Anxiety
Formed in the later half of 2015, the Glasgow-stewed quadraped malignants have already faced being banned from venues, thrown off bills, chained to railings, been subject to passing diseases and doused in drinks.

Members of Pennycress, The Lowest Form, Apostille, Herbert Powell, Helena Celle stick a skewer in a crusty mainline of protest peace punk a-la Rudimentary Peni / Crass, lick the tip of fast-paced falling-down-the-stairs HXC with Crudos in mind and war dispoetical about darkness, wetness and ripped crotches. Chaos with a capital URK.

New Values
Debut show. Fresher, slower, gruffer, dourer, exciting-er. NEW VALUES are a new formation centred around the duel baritones of David Röder of Pig Nest and Vital Idles' Ruari MacLean. Juxtaposing Röder's surrealistically withering vocal, not unlike a New Values-era Iggy climbing out of a particularly wistful K-hole, with a Clean/Bats guitar pop scree style as directed by a twisted James Williamson. New Values will no doubt provide a thrilling yet louche first aktion. Peppered by the skewed witticisms of the self-examiner, New Values promise nothing, as it should be.
