Alan Benzie Trio

Scottish pianist Alan Benzie began his international travels as a musician when he enrolled at Berklee School of Music in Boston, one of America's leading music colleges, and he has since toured throughout the UK, Europe and Japan. Along the way he's picked up stories that have inspired the pieces on his debut album, Travellers Tales. Japanese animated films (particularly Hayao Miyazaki's work) and TV series (Mushishi is a favourite) especially have fed into his imagination, as have images he's spotted from trains, planes and automobiles and with his dynamic bass and drums team of fellow Scot, London-based Andrew Robb and Hungarian drummer Marton Juhasz, Benzie brings them all to vivid, swinging life.
