Esperi, Sonny Carntyne

Esperi is Scottish multi-instrumentalist Chris James Marr.

His music ranges from acoustic storytelling to colourful electronica looping and combining different sounds with his acoustic guitar. He uses a host of instruments from the conventional to the unusual including his signature rainbow-coloured bells, which he plays with his feet. He writes about his home, his dogs and his family.

Sonny Carntyne started a solo project back in 2011, but has now progressed to a full band 4-piece. Brainchild of Dominic Venditozzi, initial release EP ‘Unicorns & Ghosts’ picked up airplay on BBC Radio Scotland (‘Another Country with Ricky Ross’) and praise from Kristin Hersh. ‘Unicorns & Ghosts’ was released on Adam Stafford’s Wiseblood Industries Label as well as NYC’s Housewarming Records.
