The premiere of The Orchid and The Wasp, a new composition written by Chris Sharkey, featuring master drummer/improviser Mark Sanders written ‘In-Residence’ at Chapel FM Arts Centre in Leeds.

The piece is inspired by Philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari’s ‘A Thousand Plateaus’ text which uses the metaphor of orchid and wasp to suggest an approach to knowledge and experience based on non-hierarchical structure which resonates loudly within the context of improvisation.
