Your Orchestra in Findhorn
Please note: Info provided by the Event Organiser
The Scottish Chamber Orchestra’s outstanding Principal Horn Alec Frank-Gemmill ranks among the finest of a new generation of horn players, and is the soloist in a witty work by German comic opera composer Albert Lortzing.
There’s more party music with Mozart’s wickedly good-humoured ‘Night-time Serenade’, written for Milan’s Carnival Celebrations of 1776. Opening is Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, celebrating the Bard’s influence on the world of music, in the year which marks the 400th anniversary of his death.
We also hear Mendelssohn’s thrilling musical postcard from Italy, radiating the warm glow of the Mediterranean sunshine in his 4th Symphony.
Expect a spell-binding musical adventure from one of the finest chamber orchestras you are likely to hear. The conductor is Wolfram Christ.
