Since bursting on to the Scottish folk scene just a few short years ago, Rura have quickly become one of the most sought-after bands of their generation and a hit at festivals throughout Europe, renowned for their rugged, energetic arrangements.

In their midst are three BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year finalists, as well as two All-Ireland bodhran champions, yet together they have already racked up an impressive array of accolades in their relatively short tenure – including being voted ‘Best Up and Coming Act’ at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards 2011 and nominations for both ‘Folk Band of the Year’ (Scots Trad Music Awards 2012) and the ‘Horizon Award’ at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2013.
